The stage is set at the Turtle Beach by Rex Resort Tobago for the first ever Jazz on the Beach event. This is by far one of the most anticipated events for the upcoming weekend in the sister isle. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Turtle Beach, hundreds of patrons will enjoy a live open-air beach Jazz concert on Saturday, coupled with a Back-in-Times Crossover Beach Jazz Brunch Party on Sunday.

Saturday’s concert kicks off at 11 am with Tobago’s own jazz ensemble Caribbean INXS starting this musical journey to usher in a renown star cast featuring Barbadian saxophonist Arturo Tappin, jazz diva Vaughnette Bigford, veteran trumpeter Errol Ince, Kaiso Jazz pianist Clive Zanda and pan virtuoso Len “Boogsie” Sharpe.

Closing down the Saturday evening musical line up producer Carl Beaver Henderson himself will return to the stage after 25 years to perform with a University of T&T (UTT) Festival Band that comprises well known musicians and artistes that include Dax Carter, Ajala, Jason “Fridge” Seecheran, Michelle Xavier and Tobago’s very own daughter of the soil Kay Alleyne, with a performance not to be missed, directed by Errol Ince.

About his return to the stage to perform live, Henderson said: “The feeling is fantastic but for those who will attend this is beyond me. It is not just about me as I will be showcasing a whole new generation of young musicians who will become the driving force behind the music industry shortly. This is what is driving my excitement as far as returning to the stage is concerned.”

Sunday Beach Jazz brunch party begins at 10 am with Caribbean INXS, followed by a new dimension to the jazz experience, as fans are taken back through the years of jazz dance hits by Beach House director DJ CPOP and Japanese DJ and UTT sound engineer Katz Imai.

This production truly promises to be a festival of fun, music and delectable cuisine as the Turtle Beach by Rex Resort Chefs has created a special mouth-watering, jazzed-up menu for the two-day event. A well stocked bar with a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages will also be available, but patrons are invited to bring their coolers with their personal choice of drinks into the venue before 2 pm.

This collaboration has brought together various industries stalwarts to deliver a memorable musical experience—Carl Beaver Henderson (music and sound extraordinaire), Turtle Beach by Rex Resorts (leaders in the Tobago hotel industry), Beach House Entertainment and telecommunication giant bMobile.

The Saturday Beach Concert will be streamed live courtesy Advance Dynamics Limited and bMobile and can be viewed by jazz fans around the world via Facebook at Tobago Beach Jazz 2017 and be linked to Rex Resorts Turtle Beach.
